Gu Family Book OST: Don’t Forget Me – Suzy [MV]

(video: LOENENT)

I’m so glad Writer Kang finally gave us some melo scenes between Kangchi and Yeowool.  That’s all I wanted to totally get behind them!  Now it’s really easy to forget about Kangchi and Chungjo.  Although in Korean culture, we often feel compelled to choose obligation over true love… unfortunately…

With Kangchi and Yeowool,  I love that their relationship developed and evolved through meaningful events between the two of them, and more importantly, is grounded in a true friendship.  There are the usual themes of their childhood connections, destiny, and potential first love ties, but I love that their present here and now relationship and story is in the foreground, which makes it all the more special.

In the Ep12 preview, after Yeowool grabbed Kangchi’s beastly, bloodied hand with no fear (while Chungjo freaked out with fear, and rightfully so), it’s clear who Kangchi belongs with.  Especially now, with people betraying him left and right… *tears*

Don’t Forget Me (lyrics)
English translation: popgasa

Do you hear my sad monologue?
These words that blame you
The name that becomes pain when I call it
You, you, you

If you are smiling at thoughts of me sometimes
I won’t have any more lingering attachments
So don’t forget me, me, me
Please remember me, me, me

Farewell only comes once but why does longing come a lot?
I have never forgotten you for a single moment, I love you

Is it so? Are you really completely fine?
You, you, you

You left me without even a common promise
But that person still remains in me
Don’t forget me, me, me
Please remember me, me, me

Farewell only comes once but why does longing come a lot?
I have never forgotten you for a single moment

I’m not asking to do a love that has already passed
I just wish you would remember my love

Don’t forget me, me, me
Love me, me, me
Farewell only comes once but why does longing come a lot?
I have never forgotten you for a single moment, I love you, I love you
