As expected, due to the Chuseok Holidays, tv ratings in general were not on the high end. While SBS Strong Heart aired a regular episode on Tuesday, KBS and MBC did not air broadcasts of their regular time-slot programs and instead aired other special programs. Neither of the KBS and MBC programs were in the top 20 ratings. Also, out of all the Chuseok special program broadcasts aired on Tuesday, Strong Heart had the highest AGB tv rating at 14.1%; the next highest rated Chuseok special show had a 10.3% AGB rating.
As for Tuesday’s main Seunggi highlight~ TONKATSU! I was literally laughing hysterically watching Seunggi laugh uncontrollably and totally lose it when Beast’s Yoon DooJoon was telling his story. DooJoon said he had auditioned for JYP and would have been part of 2am except he got cut in the end. He said it all started when he was watching the Big Bang documentary on tv with some degree of envy because although similar in age, he had yet to debut and realize his singing dream. But the part that had Seunggi keeled over and uncontrollably laughing was DooJoon’s mention of eating “Tonkatsu” while watching that documentary.
OMG, Seunggi totally lost it and could not stop laughing. I was laughing like crazy watching him laugh! He couldn’t even stay in his seat and almost spit out the water he was drinking! It was too cute. And you could tell DooJoon was super happy to have such a great reaction, and natural real reaction at that (as compared to those manufactured ones that the gagman panelist does!)
And the other highlight ~ Seunggi briefly singing. A bunch of the guests had been showing off their musical talents by playing the keyboard and singing. Teuk Academy guys were getting ready to clean up the stuff but then Eunhyuk sat down to play what he said was the only one song he knows how to play on the keyboard and said he’d like to do a duet with his friend Seunggi. Not expecting this, they had Seunggi come out and sing a few lines of “Because you’re my woman.” Aw…
It was way too short! But Seunggi letting loose and joking around with the Suju guys was awesome! You almost never hear him talk in informal terms to anybody, so it was great to see him jokingly get on Eunhyuk’s case that he was playing it wrong. It’s been said that Seunggi has a notorious rep for not being approachable by other celebs because of his uhm-chin-ah goody goody image, so I just love that he lets loose on Strong Heart and gets to be around peers instead of just always older people like the hyungs!

As Strong Heart celebrates it’s 1 year anniversary episode next week, it’s pretty amazing to think the show has maintained its #1 time slot position on Tuesday nights since it first premiered; typically doubling and sometimes tripling the viewership ratings of the other same time-slot shows. So despite its ratings being higher some weeks and lower on others, Tuesday Night is… Kang Shim Jang! Can’t wait to see the 1-year anniversary ep next week!

Wont it be great if they mention about us, international fans of SH, in their 1st anniversary episode?
Then they show a bit of the gift that were sent to them and then……. Seung Gi saying “Thank you”. That would be AWESOME!
what is “tongkatsu”? and why would it generate such a big response from seunggi?

Seung Gi oppa was laughing because BEAST’s Doojoon said that he was a sportsmen and had never thought about being an idol before until one day after his training, as he was squatting on the chair, eating a super huge plate of pork chop rice which he had delivered to his house, he saw an idol group whose members were also about his age (If I remember correctly, he said “Big Bang”) on the TV. He was felt awed by the idol group and suddenly(!?) felt ashamed of himself, and decided that he want to be an idol too!!!

strong heart subs group was great, but after YT crack down on all the vids, not sure if they’re still active. Check out the Daily Motion and Viikii Strong heart links listed under 3) TV sites (left side of this blog).
i think the DM ones are older eps. I got an email from a person with the vikkii subbing group just the other day, so they seem to be somewhat active.
