Per usual, Daewoong highlights for Seunggi fans~ :)

At the end of yesterday’s ep, Miho goes to buy the Little Mermaid book and returns to find Daewoong talking with Noona.  Wanting to do things that only make DW happy, MH retreats and heads to veranda.  DW finds her and MH confronts him about lying to her about the ending of the story. DW gets down on one knee (proposal pose!) and shuts the book gently and tells her to only trust him.
DW: They live happily ever after. Don’t listen to anything else. Just trust me.
MH: You’re right Daewoong. They live happily ever after.
DW: So don’t cry. It’s raining. (he wipes away her tear! Aw!)

They both seem to know the real ending of the book, so I’m not sure what’s going on here or what this means for later on.  Anyway, MH leaves the book there and the two happily leave to watch the movie.

They wait for the movie to start. MH sees another couple and tries to mimic everything they do.  First, she practices shooting love darts to DW.  Then she quickly drinks her soda and puts her straw in his drink so they can drink from the same cup; DW not too thrilled about that.

Then as they head into the movie,  again copying the other couple, MH tries to put the moves on DW by sliding her hand into his side pants pocket. Clueless DW thinks she wants the snack in his pocket.  He laughs and pulls out the snack  and gives it to her. A disappointed MH pouts.

Once seated, copying the couple again, MH rests her head on DW’s shoulder and puts her hand on his chest. Clueless DW chuckles and praises her for her amazing sense of smell and pulls out the snack from his chest pocket! Ha. MH pouts again. Finally, during the movie, MH succeeds in keeping his arm around her when he goes in to grab something out of her hair! Yes, finally!

Afterwards, MH says she really liked their date. Shocked to hear the word “date,” DW tells her this is definitely not a date.  MH wants to hold DW’s hand but instead DW pull her by the messenger bag strap and says this is how he is with his best friend Doong-Ja (reference to Ep 7- DW tells MH about his best friend, his dog, and MH asks to be DW’s best friend too). Too funny.

In the mall, MH brags that she learned about all these consumer products from the smart Vet. Jealous DW is not happy to hear that.  They eye-shop and DW teases MH by fibbing about the function of each product.  First the radio and earphones…

DW holds the earphones up to MH’s temples instead of to her ears and puts his head to the radio and says this machine lets the person know what the other is thinking. DW: ” You were thinking of meat, right?!”  Ah, in MH’s eyes, DW is a genius!  MH is like the perfect type of girlfriend for the insecure, ego-maniacal guy!  But thankfully, DW has a conscience and doesn’t take advantage of her sweetness anymore.

Other hilarious product fibs.  DW tells MH to stand on a weight scale and says this will display one’s age. Seeing her weight, DW says: “Wow, your age is a lot more than what it appears to be.”  Ha, DW is definitely your typical guy that wants to know how much their girlfriends weigh!  Next, the hair straight iron – according to DW, it’s used to grill meat. MH loves that concept! Then, the calculator – DW pretends to plug in his phone number and says this will allow MH to control his actions.  Too cute for words.

DW ends up having to buy the vacuum cleaner because MH broke it by throwing it the ground when DW was joking around that the machine was sucking his hand in. LOL. DW waits in line and sees MH playing in front of the fan, DW says:  “Seeing her like that, she looks just like a person.” He falls into a daze but then snaps out of it. DW reminds himself MH is a gumiho, not a human.

But as they walk out, DW keeps looking back at MH and his heart keeps wavering. He looks her up and down and shakes his head. And again reminds himself that she is not a human.

Back at home, DW has to constantly remind himself that MH is a gumiho, not a human. But then MH continues to openly state her fondness for DW. She asks him to go see a movie again, to which DW tells her to go by yourself.  MH: “Why would I do that. It’s not the movie I like, it’s you I like!”  DW is taken aback by her frankness. He thinks maybe she does like him.  DW puts this to the test and says he won’t buy her meat anymore.  But MH simply responds by saying that she’ll just have to deal with that then.  DW is going crazy with his conflicted feelings…

DW:  “What’s wrong with you. you’re a gumiho, you’re supposed to get mad and say you’re going to kill me and take my liver?! When you keep doing nice things for me and keep saying Woong-ah, I get confused about whether you’re a gumiho or a human!”  DW tells MH to be mean and scary to him so that he doesn’t forget that she is a gumiho.

The next day, DW shows MH the 100 day calendar he’s made and says that they have 93 days left and that after that it’s over between them.  Once again DW reminds MH to be scary and mean so that he won’t forget that she’s not human.

MH returns to the mall to get DW the gift that he was eying the other day.  She points to the camcorder advertisement board and asks about the price.

MH finds a job washing dishes so she can save up money to buy DW the camcorder.  She works late into the night and this has gotten DW all freaked out, especially thinking that MH may be with the Vet!  So DW finally calls MH but she doesn’t answer.  Totally annoyed, he contemplates calling the Vet but decides he has more dignity than that!  MH finally calls a super worried DW back, but only to say that she’s busy and to stop her calling her.  MH adds that she’ll be home late so not to wait up for her.

DW gives up waiting up for MH and tries to fall asleep but just can’t.  He calls MH demanding to know why she isn’t coming home yet, saying that it’s dangerous for a girl to be out so late. MH says she’s a gumiho so not to worry. Ah, again another reminder for DW that MH’s not human.

Next morning DW wakes up and finds MH rushing out again.  MH says she has to go because she’s very busy.  DW very annoyed. Later that night, MH is late again and DW is sad not to have her around.

He falls asleep and dreams that MH has decided to leave him for the Vet.  Dream scene is played perfectly by Seunggi and MinAh, like a tango!  They’re acting here is perfect- hilarious yet at the same time, very serious.

DW wakes up from bad dream, only to glance downstairs and find MH’s bed empty.  He pouts while eating breakfast on his own.  Aw, worried. pouty DW is just too cute.

MH finally tells DW that she’s been busy working to earn enough money to buy him a gift.  She goes to get the gift and DW (and me too!) thinks it’s obviously going to be the camcorder, but surprise…  the gift is actually the advertisement board for the camcorder! Ha. Touched by her thoughtfulness, DW tells MH that he will put the board right by his bed.  Quoting one of MH’s lines, DW says “I’m so happy, I feel like i’m going to cry.” Aw….

But DW realizes that MH’s been swindled and was only paid pennies for her work. Mad, DW and MH go back to the restaurant and demand money from the owner.

Though happy to get the money, MH feels silly for being swindled and feels that she’s lacking to be a human.  Later, while she waits for DW to finish his meeting with the Action School Teacher, MH overhears Noona talking trash about her to DW’s aunt.  MH confronts Noona but still feels lousy and even more insecure as a human.  She returns home without waiting for DW.

When she gets home, a new camcorder (gift from Noona) is delivered for DW. MH realizes that once again she was not thinking straight. She thought DW wanted the ad board, but he had really wanted the camcorder.  Feeling sad, she goes to see the Vet.

In the meantime, DW picks up flowers for MH, but still is going back and forth.  DW: “I must be crazy. Flowers for a gumiho?!” DW returns to the gym and finds the ad board in the trashcan.

He brings it back to the apt, along with flowers that he’s bought for MH…

MH returns to a romantically lit apartment and finds her ad board gift front and center in the living room.  DW comes out from behind the sign and gives her the flowers and is surprised at how much she likes them even though she is not a real girl.

He tells her not to worry about buying him the ad board, that even though they are different, they can ask each other questions about their likes and dislikes from now on.  So MH jumps on the opportunity…

MH: How afraid are you of me now?
DW: Honestly, I’m not afraid of you at all. I was just saying that.
MH: Do you still not like having me around?
DW: Honestly, I don’t mind it. I think I’m used to it now. [points to the ad board] Hey that place looks really awesome. Should we go there together sometime?
MH: Then from now on, Can you start liking me? Even though I’m different from you, couldn’t you still like me?

DW is about to answer…

But then Grandpa barges in in a fit of anger:  “You two can’t be together.  Separate now! Cha Dae Woong, pack your things!”

Noona had told DW’s aunt that DW’s body is not healthy and that he’s risking his life just for MH.  The aunt told grandpa who was furious upon hearing this.  Agh, looks like Noona has spoiled the moment again, via Grandpa.  How are we supposed to wait a whole week to find out what happens next?!

  1. Seems to be an awesome episode again! We’re halfway through…oh, how I wish this series will go on forever! Or maybe last for just 3 yrs, like 1n2d…or even a year like Strong Heart! Oh well, Seunggi needs to rest too…16 episodes is okay…Dae Woong and Miho fighting!

  2. Ann, thank you so much or the recap. I love watching this drama very much! I always look forward to Wednesdays & Thursdays every week, together with your recaps! I so wish that it will air longer, not just 16 episodes. I love Seung Gi’s acting here. He has improved a lot since BL. He’s chemistry with Min Ah is just awesome. They are truly a perfect Hoi Couple :-).
Oh, thank you so much for all the Lee Seung Gi updates that you always do. They always put big smile on my face! :-). I love reading your comments in all the updates. God bless you always.

  3. Hwaaaaa…like usual,very touching and sweet story…
    Seung Gi fighting!

  4. i cannot wait until ep 8 next week!!!!! i can’t believe we’re already halfway into the drama! why is it only slated for 16 eps????!!!! :( :(

  5. Now that I think about it, the fact that brilliant legacy ratings that reached the 40% are so astounding than the other big hit drama…since its from sbs rather than kbs that people see as a government tv station..also, ive checked the recent drama from 2007 to 2010, not one drama from sbs has passed the 20% ratings before BL of course…at least at that time slot, and also, there are no coincident that favors the drama like the world cup or anything, its all come from the actor/actress chemistry and hard work…as for kim tak gu, even from before the grown up cast started coming out, the ratings have already reached 30% right? and also aided by the cancelling of other program to give a time slot for the world cup that hurts the drama ratings both from mbc and sbs….the drama will surely pass the 50% marks sooner or later, more so when there are only 4 episodes left..even though its already surpass BL in terms of ratings, people will still recognize LSG’s capabilities as the holder of 3 crown will not fall…but surely, after this, we will see YSY and the cast of KTG even more in from now on, since the industry of CF is fast in catching on who is the current trend…he will be a great rival for LSG from now on…even though he’s older…lol, but, this sudden fame will be a great boost for his career….hmmm…just reconfirming where our favorite guy’s current standing right now….gotta get it out of my system somehow…btw, the ratings for PK is also a great contrasting agent and made both the other drama looks good too..lol

  6. scratch that comment on ratings from 2007 to 2010 not having surpassed 20%, they are some, but not many, and not much has the same amount of episode as BL…lol, just too sleepy, ^o^
